Cami, white Schnauzer

Cami, a 7-year-old white Schnauzer, is a recently retired breeder who needs continued patient socialization. Due to her shyness, we require a home with an existing well-adjusted dog (one that likes to interact with other dogs) that will help Cami adapt to a new home. She appears to connect better with women, so we feel a 1-2 female home may be the best placement for her. A fenced area is needed until she is comfortable on a leash/tie-out for going potty. She gets along well with other dogs, and has begun playing with toys. Cami likes to get right up into her foster mom’s face, sniff, get kisses, hug, etc. She is spayed and up to date on all veterinary care. Weight: approx 20#. She is working on house training and leash walking, but she still needs work on both of those. Cami’s adoption fee is $450. She is being fostered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For more information or to discuss whether your home can meet Cami’s needs, contact her foster mom Michelle at (616) 949-7813 or m.vangeest@att.net.

Chanel, Yorkie female

This gal is small (but not pocket-sized!), weighing in around 8-10#. Chanel is 4 years old and in need of patient socialization and house training. We will provide more details as we get to know her a little better. Chanel is awaiting her vet care and spay, so she won’t be available for adoption until sometime in March (will update this info too). Inquiries about Chanel can be directed to our email address: 2ndchancesmalldogrescue@gmail.com

Opal, Bernese Mt. Dog

Marshall, Miniature Poodle–Pending

Marshall just turned 5 years old, and he’s excited about finding a forever home with humans who will give him loving attention and help him become his best self. He is smart, energetic and loving; eager to please; friendly with other dogs and OK with a calm cat. Marshall is comfortable in his crate and keeps it clean. He is working on house training but will need continued work on that. Marshall’s ideal home will have a fenced yard for burning off energy and a playful canine friend to keep him company if his people are gone for long hours. He is a tall miniature poodle and weighs approx. 18-20#. Marshall will be available for adoption after his vet appointment in mid-February; he will be neutered, up to date on vaccinations and heart worm testing at that time. All in all, Marshall is a delightful and beautiful boy with great potential! His adoption fee is $450. For details, contact his foster mom Michelle at m.vangeest@att.net or (616) 949-7813.

Update on Bridgette

UPDATE: We have made the decision not to move forward with the surgery that was recommended based on more information regarding her overall health. We truly appreciate the kindness and concern of our dog-loving friends.
