This beautiful boy is a 4-year-old King Charles Cavalier. He is a retired breeder; as usual, he will need some more socialization. He is low key in personality. He is starting to walk on a leash. He crates OK. His vetting will be completed on January 7 and he will become available after that. Though not required for placement, a fenced yard and canine companion would be bonuses! Contact Mary (574) 524-6040 if you have questions.

Turk, male Fox Terrier mix
This little guy was found stray in the Elkhart area on “Turkey Day,” and an extensive search didn’t locate the owners. So he is getting neutered at the end of January and can be “fostered-to-adopt” in the meantime. He is estimated to be only a year old. Turk is friendly; good with other dogs; and described as low key. His adoption fee is $300. For more info, contact Mary at (574) 524-6040 or complete an adoption application online.
Cami, white Schnauzer–Pending
Cami just turned 7 years old on December 9!! She is a recently retired breeder who needs continued patient socialization. She appears to connect better with females, so we feel a 1-2 female home may be the best placement for her. Cami is easily startled by household sounds or loud voices; but when she loves you, she LOVES you! A fenced area is needed until she is comfortable on a leash/tie-out for going potty. She gets along well with other dogs, and has begun playing with toys and sometimes stealing toys from Tootz! Cami likes to get right up into her foster mom’s face, sniff, get kisses, hug, etc. She is spayed and up to date on all veterinary care. Weight: approx 20#. She is working on house training and leash walking, but she still needs work on both of those. Cami’s adoption fee is $450. She is being fostered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For more information or to discuss whether your home can meet Cami’s needs, contact her foster mom Michelle at (616) 949-7813 or m.vangeest@att.net.
Update on Bridgette
UPDATE: We have made the decision not to move forward with the surgery that was recommended based on more information regarding her overall health. We truly appreciate the kindness and concern of our dog-loving friends.
Tiffany, lovely poodle
Meet Tiffany, a purebred moyen poodle*. We think her black & white coat is quite unique. Tiffany is good with other dogs. She appears to be rather social for a retired breeder, but her adopter will need to continue socializing her in a patient manner. Though it’s not polite to ask a woman’s weight or age, Tiffany admitted that she weighs around 25# and is 4 years old. A fenced yard is recommended for her safety and exercise while she learns to walk on a leash. If you’re interested in adopting Tiffany, please submit an application. Adoption fee is $450. For more information, contact her foster mom Mary at (574) 524-6040; leave a brief voice or text message and she will return your call as soon as possible.
* Moyen refers to a size category that’s larger than a miniature but smaller than a standard poodle. More common in Europe.
** Tiffany is awaiting the vetting necessary for adoption (mid-December). In the meantime, we can set up a Foster-to-Adopt arrangement; in such case, the “adopter” needs to live within an hour of Elkhart, IN.
